Background information about Study Tours

Question markIn 2005 Michigan State University's (MSU) College of Education began sponsoring a series of international study tours for educational leaders. These international study tours are the result of a collaborative effort between the U.S.-China Center for Research on Educational Excellence and the Office of K-12 Outreach. Leadership for the study tours is provided by Dr. Yong Zhao, University Distinguished Professor and Director of the U.S.-China Center for Research on Educational Excellence, Dr. Barbara Markle, Assistant Dean for K-12 Outreach at MSU and MSU Consultant Dan Schultz.

Who gets involved?

Past MSU study tour participants have included the executive directors and presidents of state and national education organizations, elected members of the Michigan State Board of Education, local and intermediate school district superintendents, elementary, middle and high school principals and assistant principals, district curriculum directors and consultants, school board members, classroom teachers, college and university administrators and professors, independent consultants and business leaders.
